What the client wanted
Recommended to us by a previous client, our client is a talented baker with a real passion for showing off her cakes. She had spotted a gap on the high street, where there was no independent coffee shop to call its own. She came to us with a clear vision but no design to work from, a tight budget, and a turnaround that left no time to hang about.
What we did
We stripped the old bank back to brick and built the cafe from there. We created the rooms it needed, including a kitchen, a public toilet and a serving area, then plastered, built the ceiling, and installed the plumbing and electrics. We built a bespoke counter, laid flooring throughout and completed the decoration. Outside, we fitted brick slips finished to look like traditional brickwork, turning a tired, run down frontage into a warm, characterful shopfront that draws people in from the street.
The Outcome
The client was over the moon. The coffee shop is still thriving today and is talked about as one of the best on the high street.
